BASIC FEE SCHEDULE

BASIC TESTS


Routine Analysis - $20.00 per sample*
Standard diagnostic and identification procedures of plants, plant problems and insects (does not include turf, see below). The fee covers initial sample evaluation, microscopic examination, routine cultures for fungal and bacterial pathogens, and a letter discussing the diagnosis and management suggestions, if needed.

Additional charges
-An additional $20 fee will be charged for all samples originating outside of Ohio
-Insect evaluations requiring extensive time to isolate and identify the pest(s) will be billed the basic fee +$10/hour.

Soybean Cyst Nematode Samples - $15 per sample*

*Please incude a check made out to "The Ohio State University" with the sample.
If payment does not accompany the sample, you will receive a bill.


TURFGRASS

Turfgrasss samples submitted by Homeowners - $20.00 per sample

Commercially Managed Ohio Turfgrass - $75 per sample

Out-of-State Turfgrass - $125 per sample

SPECIFIC TESTS

(Costs for the procedures below are in addition to the basic fee)
Serological Tests
ELISA test of plant samples for Phytophthora - $40.00
ELISA test of plant samples for Impatiens Necrotic Spot Virus or Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus - $20.00
ELISA test of geraniums for bacterial blight of geranium (Xanthomonas campestris pv. pelargonii) - $15.00
Identification of specific bacteria using fatty acid analysis - $35.00
dsRNA test for viruses - $35.00
Referrals to Other Laboratories
If diagnosis of a specimen received in OSU's Clinic requires testing by another laboratory, the fee charged will include the OSU Clinic's basic fee, postage costs, and the fees charged by the other laboratory. Unless specifically requested upon the submission of the sample to OSU's Clinic, prior approval of the referral will be sought.
