The CWE-PPDC is a member of the National Plant Diagnostic Network. The clinic offers a broad spectrum of testing to identify pests and plant diseases as a fee-based service laboratory.  Diagnosticians collaborate with specialists in plant pathology, entomology, horticulture, agronomy, natural resources, and other areas to identify pests, plant diseases, and cultural and environmental problems of plants.

The PPDC accepts samples from:
Commercial production: vegetable, floriculture, ornamental, fruit, hops, and field crops.
Commercial landscaping companies and arborists: tree care, public parks/gardens, landscape management
Residential: homeowners or backyard gardeners, landscape ornamentals

THE CLINIC IS LOCATED IN WOOSTER, OH - OSU CFAES WOOSTER CAMPUS

Out-of-state clients must contact us before submitting samples, as a specific permit is required. The diagnostic fee for out-of-state samples starts at $50.00.

PPDC is not a medical facility.
Samples from a person's or animal's body are not accepted.

    September 2022 the entomology department received a voicemail from Christian Centa in Doylestown OH. He said seeing a mating pair of burying beetles in his backyard trying to bury a mouse carcass. He was aware of the rarity of the Burying beetles, recorded the scene without disturbing them, and sent me the videos.
